Postdoctoral Fellows

Postdoctoral Fellows further their research training under the guidance of a Principal Investigator. Our institutional training program provides support that will develop competency in conceptual knowledge, research and experimental skills, communication skills, leadership and management skills, and the responsible conduct of research. Postdoctoral fellows design and implement a research project, and are encouraged to seek fellowship funding. They are expected to present research results at meetings and in publications, and are a valued component of our research community.

Graduate Students

MHIR participates in two PhD programs, The University of Maine Graduate School of Biomedical Science and Engineering, and the Tufts Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Our Principal Investigators serve as primary mentors for graduate students performing thesis research, and also serve on thesis committees. Students are mentored through a research project, publication, responsible conduct of research, and other aspects important to a career in biomedical research. We provide opportunities for students to travel to present research at meetings and conferences, and to pursue workshops and courses.
