Overview
The primary purpose of the Maine Medical Center's ESCRO Committee is to ensure that all federal and state regulations governing the conduct of human embryonic stem cell research are met and that all Human Embryonic Stem cell research is conducted in accordance with the general principles expressed in the NAS Guidelines for Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research (Guidelines), with the Policies and Procedures adopted by the Maine Medical Center hESCRO Committee, with other relevant Maine Medical Center research policies. For Human Embryonic Stem cell research that is federally funded, the applicable NIH Guidelines for Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research must also be met.
