23. How to Submit an Annual Progress Report for Continuing Review?
Complete the New Progress Report and submit it to the IRB along with any relevant attachments.
If the Progress Report involves modifications to previously approved research, submit those modifications as a separate request for modification using the Amendment Form.
If IRB approval of the Human Research expires, all study procedures related to the protocol under review must cease, including recruitment, advertisement, screening, enrollment, consent, interventions, interactions, and collection of private identifiable information. Continuing Human Research procedures is a violation of federal regulations.
If current participants will be harmed by stopping Human Research procedures that are available outside the Human Research context, provide these on a clinical basis as needed to protect current participants. If current participants will be harmed by stopping Human Research procedures that are not available outside the Human Research context, immediately contact the administrative support for the IRB at (207) 396- 8240 and provide a written list of the currently enrolled participants and an explanation of why they would be harmed by stopping Human Research procedures.
