10. How to Write a Research Plan for IRB Purposes?
The Research Plan is a synopsis of the entire study plan. Its purpose is to provide MMC IRB members and reviewers with sufficient information about the protocol in order to conduct a substantive review. A detailed protocol is a comprehensive outline of the study plan, which includes greater detail. The IRB will require a copy of the Sponsor Protocol or Grant to be submitted along with the Research Plan.
The research plan includes a number of components outlined in the research plan section 17 of the IRB application.
