Dr. Susan Miesfeldt is a practicing oncologist and serves as the PI on the NCCCP. She received an MD from Tufts University School of Medicine and completed residency and fellowship training at the University of Virginia and University of Michigan Schools of Medicine. She serves as the Medical Director for the Cancer Risk and Prevention Program at MMC.
She has served on several state task forces and work groups related to cancer screening and prevention. She is also a member of the American Cancer Society Board of Directors for the New England Division and sits on an NCI study section. Her research interests span the cancer care continuum, from genetic screening and testing to treatment and palliative care. She has received research support from the NCI, Maine Health and Human Services, Maine Cancer Foundation, and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
