Dr. Kathleen Fairfield is a clinical investigator at CORE, with interests in cancer and shared decision making. She has received research support from the American Cancer Society and internal grant support. She is board certified in Internal Medicine, completing an M.D. at Boston University School of Medicine, residency and fellowships at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston, and M.P.H. in Epidemiology and a Dr.P.H. in Epidemiology/Nutrition at Harvard School of Public Health.
In addition to her research activities, Dr. Fairfield serves as the Medical Director of the Portland Community Free Clinic and Associate Chief of Medicine for Research and Quality Improvement at MMC. She also serves as a clinical advisor to the Foundation for Informed Medical Decision Making. She has developed considerable expertise in SEER/Medicare data and has published several studies of analyses of these data.
