Dr. Lee Lucas, Co-Director of CORE, received her Ph.D. in epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh and an M.S. in Public Policy and Management from the University of Southern Maine.  She has served as the Associate Director for Research at CORE since 2001.  The substantive focus of her research has been cardiovascular disease, but she has served as a co-investigator on studies in other areas as well.  She has worked with collaborators at Maine Medical Center, the Dartmouth Institute and Dartmouth Medical School, HealthDialog, and the University of California at San Francisco. 

Support for her research comes from several Federal agencies, including NICHD, NCI, NHLBI, and AHRQ.  She has extensive expertise in research methods, including the management and analysis of large datasets.  She has published extensively in peer reviewed journals, including JAMA, NEJM, and Lancet.  At CORE, she spearheads the seminar series, educational programs, mentoring, and consultative services for new investigators.
