Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to participate in this study, families of any ethnicity must have at least one child between the ages of 9 and 17 years old who ranks above the 85 percentile Body Mass Index (BMI) overweight or obese classification according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC). BMI Calculator and follow the steps on the BMI calculator. You will be asked to provide your child’s weight, height, gender, and date of birth. After you enter the information, click on “Caculate.” You will then be given a number between 0% and 100% to indicate your child’s calculated BMI. If your child’s calculated BMI is 85% or above then your family is eligible to participate in this study.
