Overview:
The Cell
Culture and Viral Vector Core was established at MMCRI in 2004. The
objective of the core is to provide high quality, consistent cell culture
and viral vector services to support research performed at MMCRI. The
Core is dedicated to the development and production of viral vectors
for angiogenesis, stem cell & regenerative medicine and clinical
renal research. The Core operates on a fee-for-service basis and
fees are established which will allow cost efficiency to investigators. Fees
cover costs only.
Viral
vectors are produced in a dedicated BL2 facility within the MMCRI
building. Vector systems currently being used include adenovirus,
retrovirus and lentivirus.
Services Available:
The Core facility currently offers the following services:
- Stock reagents for cell culture and viral preparations
- Provides established cell lines
- Transfection
and transduction of gene-specific viral DNA provided by principal
investigators.
- Large scale production, purification and titration of adenovirus,
retrovirus, lentivirus.
- Technical assistance in cell culture and viral preparations.
Service Requests:
A Service
Request Form can be downloaded from the website. The
form must be filled out completely with as much detailed information
