Magnetic Resonance Angiography of the neck area in the mouse:
A time-of-flight
3D image of the large arteries in the neck area of the mouse is shown.
The two parallel carotid arteries that branch off the aorta and bring
blood to the brain can be seen. The bifurcation in each of the carotid
arteries is easily identifiable. This MRI method is based on fast flowing
protons therefore only arterial blood is detected.
