Student Comments “This program is indeed a very unique and purely exquisite one. It is my third summer back here at MMCRI and the helpful people I have met, and the research I have been able to perform make the experience worth coming back to again and again……” - Chris Hooper “………………..I
was definitely impressed with everything from the caliber of research
taking place to the friendly atmosphere to the passion for learning
and eagerness to teach that I found within the walls of MMCRI “I spent this summer in Don Wojchowski's laboratory investigating mechanisms that govern hematopoiesis, specifically tyrosine sites 567 and 569 within receptor tyrosine kinase c-Kit and its downstream signaling. I also investigated negative regulators of c-Kit signaling. This was a wonderful opportunity! Thank you!” - Jennifer Curato “…………………..I enjoyed participating in the scientific process, starting with a question, developing ways to address that question through experimentation, learning how to look at and analyze data and gaining experience reporting findings. I am grateful for my experiences these last ten weeks and what I will be taking with me is more valuable then pleasant memories of a summer past.” - Katherine Schlieper “This
summer I had a fantastic opportunity to work under the guidance of
Dr. Susan Swartz and the CTI staff. “I found MMCRI to be a great place to work and learn, and enjoyed a number of the presentations I saw there over the course of the summer.” - Daniel Gayer “I
am so grateful to have had the opportunity to work at MMCRI this
summer. The intellectual growth I experienced this summer in the
lab was far greater than any classroom atmosphere could have provided.
For the first time I felt more like a scientist and less like a student,
although it came clearer that those things really are one and the
same. “Thank you MMCRI. This was an incredible opportunity to experience real research in the laboratory. I loved being involved in an independent research project and learned so much from it. Everyone was extremely helpful and kind. It was a wonderful experience.” - Leah Cushing |
