Dr. Susan Miesfeldt received her Bachelors degree from the University of Vermont, and her MD from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1984, and went on to complete her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Virginia, and her Hematology/Oncology Fellowship training at the University of Michigan School of Medicine, Ann Arbor, where she was a Howard Hughes Fellow. She was an Associate Professor and Director of the Cancer Genetics Clinic at the University of Virginia’s Health Sciences Center, and since 1997, has been a member of the NIH’s Cancer Genetics Studies Consortium. Presently, she serves as the Medical Director for the Cancer Risk and Prevention Program at Maine Medical Center. Dr. Miesfeldt has authored several book chapters and many peer-reviewed articles, in addition to internet and video educational tools.
