Dr. Lee Lucas was one of the founding members of CORE and currently serves as the Associate Director. Dr. Lucas completed a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Maine and obtained a PhD in epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh. Before beginning her research career, she also worked as a nurse for 15 years. She is a quantitatively trained epidemiologist, interested in research methods and statistical analysis regardless of content area. She works with residents, fellows, and attending clinicians to design and analyze research projects from multiple disciplines. In addition, she has extensive experience using large administrative databases to answer health services related questions, with particular expertise in cardiology treatment. She collaborates extensively with investigators at Dartmouth, participating in Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care projects. She has an extensive publication list, including research articles in JAMA and Circulation and the Dartmouth Atlas of Cardiovascular Health Care.
