Dr. Kathleen Fairfield came to CORE in 2002. She is a graduate of Bowdoin College and obtained her MD from Boston University School of Medicine. She received her master’s in Public Health, and went on to complete her doctorate in Public Health in 2000 at Harvard where she was named a Cancer Prevention Fellow. Her main area of research is ovarian cancer epidemiology. She is also involved in research in shared decision making, serving as a clinical advisor for the Foundation for Informed Medical Decision making since 2005. She practices clinically in the area of adult internal medicine for the Outpatient Clinics at Maine Medical Center. She is actively involved in medical education at Maine Medical Center where she serves as the Director of Resident Scholarly Activity and Evidence-based Medicine, teaching residents during their ambulatory experiences and organizing the Evidence-based Medicine conference.
