Dr. Amy Haskins joins CORE as a post-doctoral investigator in September 2008. Dr. Haskins is a graduate of Bowdoin College and completed her PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2008. Prior to joining CORE, she was a Fulbright Scholar, and subsequently worked as a research assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and as a research analyst at the Center for Tobacco Independence. Her dissertation research focused on smoking during pregnancy among Hispanic women and the risk of gestational diabetes, preterm birth subtypes, and small-for-gestational-age. Dr. Haskins is interested in maternal and child health epidemiology, including how diet and other pregnancy behaviors affect both short- and long-term health outcomes.
