National Children’s Study

The National Children's Study (NCS) is the largest long-term study of children’s health and development ever conducted in the United States. It will follow 100,000 children from selected counties throughout the United States from before birth until age 21, addressing biological, social and environmental components of children’s health.

Cumberland County has been selected as one of the counties to participate in the National Children’s Study. CORE and the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center have submitted a proposal to be the Study Center for this location. We are currently waiting to hear about the status of the proposal. Please check back in September for further information.
