Applications are invited from translational research investigators who are using modern cell, molecular and/or genetic methods to elucidate molecular mechanisms of lung cancer or thoracic neoplasms. Translational investigators with a demonstrated interest in lung cancer growth, invasion and metastasis, tumor microenvironment, molecular targets for therapeutics, biomarkers for diagnosis, or response and prognosis are encouraged to apply.

Institute faculty have access to excellent resources, including generous start-up funds and space in a new state-of-the-art research building. This position will be associated with MMCRI’s Center for Clinical and Translational Research. The successful candidate will also be expected to interact with existing clinical programs at MMC, to participate in graduate medical education programs, and to provide research mentoring to pulmonary fellows. Clinical opportunity to participate in a multidisciplinary thoracic/oncology clinic is available.

The successful candidate will have an outstanding record of academic achievement and extramural funding and will complement existing basic and clinical research programs at MMCRI. Junior faculty with an exceptional record of achievement will be considered. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Portland area offers an environment rich in cultural and recreational opportunities. Applicants should send a curriculum vita and a brief statement of research interests to:
